Scouting Director Prospect Profile: Let me introduce you to Tre Page III — the name may not be familiar now, but it soon could be. An under-recruited high school player out of Georgia, Page was overlooked by college coaches, a common trend in today’s college football recruiting landscape, where many programs instead focus on transfers and more traditionally sized running backs.
What I saw in Page as a high school player is exactly what Tarleton State fans witnessed during his freshman season, even with a limited workload — an explosive threat and an entertaining player every time he touched the ball.
Page eventually entered the transfer portal and chose to sign with Oklahoma State over Boston College and Wake Forest, who were rumored to be the other favorites. Now we get to watch Page compete in the Big 12 for the next three seasons before he potentially lands an NFL opportunity — or, in a scenario CFL teams and fans would hope for, signs in the CFL instead. He should be on every CFL team’s negotiation list and carefully monitored over the next few seasons.
More importantly, Tre Page III should be keeping a close eye on the CFL as well, because it could become his home for a long time. The two sides seem like a perfect match.
